ABOUT CENDAWAN SUSU HARIMAU (RIMAU)
Cendawan Susu Harimau or tiger’s milk fungus in English is a unique “National Tressure”. This mushroom has high medicinal values and was singled out as one of the most important medicinal mushrooms for those indigenous communities.
Scientifically, this wild herb is named as Lignosus Rhinocerus. It can only be found in a small geographic region encompass South China, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and Australia.
According to folklore, the fungus was believed to be grown from the spot where the milk of a prowling tiger has dropped on the ground and will when only sprout out when nature calls. The underground sclerotium is the part with the medicinal values. Unfortunately, the presence of this sclerotium can only be noticed when the mushroom sprouts out from the ground.
The underground fungus tuber or sclerotia will remain there for a long time. It can be months, years or even decades. The existence of this mushroom in the earth is always solitary and it makes the collection of this wild herb difficult and limited.

Cendawan Susu Harimau has many health benefits. It was used as a traditional herb to treat various health problems. Besides as a tonic to maintain health, this fungus was believed to have more than 15 medicinal usages according to the different tribes. These included treatment for fever, asthma, breast cancer, stomach cancer, lung cancer, unknown tumors, food poisoning, healing wounds, pus healing, as a general tonic, and strengthen immune system etc. It is also used to treat coughs. A paste of Daldinia Concentrica is used for treating itchiness of the skin and Lentinus tuber-regium for treating diarrhea.

TRADITIONAL & MODERN CONSUMPTION
- 1) After slicing, soak the sliced fungus tuber in the water.
- 2) Boil and cook for about 30 minutes, put the other ingredients such as Tongkat Ali if wanted and needed.
- 3) Remove it from the place and the resulting decoction is drunk.
*Drink the decoction 3 tablespoons in a day in order to treat the diseases
